Question #1: What was the first stamp set you purchased?
My first SU! stamps set was Stars & Swirls...it was enough to get me hooked. Later, when it went on the retirement list, I bought it again just in case something should happen to my first set ;) –Christy

The
first stamp set that I bought was Festival Fun, a super cute Hanukkah set. I
bought that, a black ink pad and the watercolor pencils, and figured I had all
that I needed to make my cards! Little did I know it would lead to a whole room
full of crafting supplies. I still have that stamp set. --Yapha
My
first exposure to SU! was the "How Not To Do A Workshop"! I was
invited to join some ladies who were going to be doing some rubber stamping. I
knew NOTHING about stamping, nothing was said about SU! or a workshop. The lady
who seemed to be leading the stamping time, laid a bunch of card stock and
stamps out and maybe gave us some ideas of what we could do, and said
"Have fun." I sat there stunned-no idea what to do or how to do it.
Then people started to order and I realized this was a party of some sort. I
ordered 2 or 3 sets, don't ask me why. Sealife was one as my daughter loved
dolphins, Wildlife I think was another. I also acquired Wolf and Fancy Felines
for similar reasons. I had no clue how to make a card from those sets and I am
not sure why I was so determined to do rubber stamping-maybe for the
relationship with the people. I believe I still have those sets but can't say I
used them very much. --Rose

Friends is the first one I remember buying that I got outside of my starter
kit. Back then your starter kits were not as flexible as they are now. I
remember getting this because it was fun, and I thought I'd be able to do some
fun holiday cards and classes with it. --Shan
My first stamp set was bought at a Stampin' Up party that I only went to because I was helping a friend get more customers. I told her that I was NOT crafty and would come anyway to support her. FAMOUS LAST WORDS!!! LOL I bought a little background set with dots. These days I can barely walk in my stamp room now. :D
ReplyDeleteAre you supposed to be able to walk in a stamp room?!! LOL!!
DeleteWhen I joined SU! as a demonstrator in 1999, Nice and Easy Notes was one of the sets that came with the kit...haven't touched this one in years but still have it :-) Are you kidding about walking in the craft room! I have to wave my way in lately- lol!! Time to work on the organization again...
